You are not alone... 3 lessons in business ownership

Don’t be foolish... Know when to ask for help!

Recently I had a mini breakdown at my business. What a wake up call! I was so mentally overwhelmed and didn’t know it until it was too late. I had a plan but never wanted to execute it, because “doing it myself” was easier!

Lesson 1: YOUR BUSINESS IS GOING TO DO WHAT IT WANTS TO DO AND YOU NEED TO ADJUST.

The worst thing you can do for your business is trying to force it to be what it isn't. Make a plan, and follow it, but don’t be afraid to deviate from the plan if you need to be flexible. Remember you are in charge and you are allowed to change the rules and the plan whenever you feel it is needed. As your business grows you will need to adjust your plan.

Lesson 2: YOU CANNOT DO EVERYTHING YOURSELF

It is hard to give your baby (your business) to other people, but let's be real, you aren't the best at everything. Take a good look at your team and find out where they each flourish. Who do you ask for a second opinion? Outsourcing some things isn't always a failure it just means that you are growing and THAT’S A GOOD THING.  I have recently been automating some of my social media post and it has been a game change (thanks to the later app!) If you don’t want to outsource, make a schedule and knock out 1-2 months' worth of work at once.

Lesson 3: SELF CARE IS NECESSARY

You are only as good as you feel. Sleep is important and some things can wait until tomorrow. Self-care doesn’t always mean you have to spend money. Find some joy in making your life easier sometimes. Planning and organization can really help you find more time just for you.  Take a walk, turn your phone off, watch a movie, take a bath FIND THE TIME.

SIDE NOTE FOR SINGLE MOMS, self-care? What in the world is that? Trust me I know. I am still figuring out what that means for me and juggling mom life and boss life. What I have found helpful was finding that support that I talked about in the second blog! There are other people out there just like you that you can vibe with that will give you the time off you need as long as you do the same for them. Make other business owner mom friend. People who believe in you will be there for you 😊

Long story short... be flexible and ask for help from people you trust. Nobody is going to do it like you but if you are unable to do it nothing will get done.
